If you do not have a good credit score and you want to get a credit card, you should not despair. There are several ways to get credit cards for people with really bad credit. Before you start, you need to keep in mind that every time you apply for a loan, your score will receive a small negative ding. Therefore, you should not simply apply for every card that you see and hope for the best. Rather, you need to embrace a strategic process.
First of all, you should keep in mind that certain credit card companies actually specialize in lending money to high risk clients. Companies like Household Bank, Orchard, and Capital One often offer credit cards for people with really bad credit. If you have already defaulted on a card from one of these companies, you should not apply again because they will deny you.
In fact, if you have any recent defaults or charge-offs, you should deal with them before applying for anything. If you are unsure about whether or not you have any, you should pull a credit report. You can get a free report once a year from each of the three reporting agencies. Once you pull your report, you should see if you could take care of any defaulted loans or charge-offs, doing that will drastically improve your chances of getting a new card.
If you absolutely cannot get a Visa or Mastercard from one of the notorious high risk lenders, you should speak to a friend or relative about co-signing a loan for you. If they have a good score, they may be able to get you a line of credit at your bank. You can link this line to your bank account, and then, it will work exactly like a regular Visa or Mastercard. The third option is to get a secured card. These cards are a great way to repair your history. You send them a set amount of money. Then, when you make charges, they subtract the money from your account. It is like spending money out of a savings account, but it appears on your report like a regular card.

These options are a few of the credit cards for people with really bad credit. If none of these options works, you can find cash quickly by applying for a payday loan. Otherwise, your only option is to simply consolidate your bad debt and repay it until your score is good enough to get a regular card.
